Job Overview Valet Drivers – SSM Health St Louis University Hospital. Starting pay $12‑14 per hour plus cash tips daily. Medical benefits offered to all employees. No experience needed. Many shifts available. Compensation is based on skills, experience, education or training, and location. The hourly base pay range is $12‑14 plus $3‑7 in tips. Work Schedule & Benefits Potential schedule includes weekdays, weekends, and all shifts. Role Summary The Guest Service Associate manages valet parking and provides hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. Essential Functions Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients. Greet guests within five feet using a professional approach. Use the appropriate salutation of the day and welcome guests to the location. Practice proper phone etiquette. Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed. Open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests. Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries. Provide information about outlets, meeting rooms, and facility amenities, as well as main attractions in the area. Shuttle guests to approved locations as directed by the site. Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival. Issue claim checks after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks before returning keys. Keep all ticket information complete, including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey, and claim check receipt. Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when required. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license for the state of employment. Manual transmission desirable for parallel parking. At least one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of customer and personal service principles, standard English reading and writing, simple instruction comprehension, basic arithmetic with currency, 24‑hour time, and rate calculation. Ability to perform parallel parking and meet the physical demands of the position. Authority & Working Conditions Job is highly routine with established procedures. Incumbent follows guidelines and performs tasks under specific operational instructions. Decisions are made within departmental guidelines. The position has minimal budget responsibility. Physical Demands & Environment Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, run, walk, handle objects up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Work is primarily outdoors, subject to extreme heat and cold. Protective gear for weather may be provided, but temperature changes can still occur. Travel may be required up to 5% of the time. Requires reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
