Business Development ManagerProvide flow control related sales and technical support to Applied Control's customers to continually grow our business throughout our territory.Success Factors:Service-oriented – willing to go the extra mile for our customers.Empathetic – cares about the challenges, goals, drivers, and needs of others.Natural relationship builder – operates with integrity and reliability.Trustworthy – earns and deserves the trust of customers and colleagues.Willing to learn – invests in skills and knowledge to propel themselves forward.Responsible – takes responsibility for their actions and outcomes, accountable to others.Communication – writes and speaks with intention, actively listens so others feel heard.Responsibilities:Identify and cultivate opportunities with new customers and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with all key customers.Manage and coordinate the pursuit of in-house and field opportunities.Lead and/or support key opportunities through the following phases: Project Identification, Pursuit Strategy, Proposal Generation, Execution, Project Completion and Customer Satisfaction Follow-up.Serve as an outside sales resource and subject matter expert for all services, including:Ball, butterfly, gate, globe, and check valvesPneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuatorsInstrumentation and accessories, i.e. solenoids, switch boxes, digital positioners, controllers, etc.Installation, maintenance, and commissioning servicesCommunicate to the inside sales team any technical requirements to perform the requested design packageComply with customer safety standards including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (respirators, goggles, hearing protection, etc.) when visiting customer facilities.Understand and comply with generally accepted industry standards, such as ANSI, ASME, API, IEC and others, as they apply to valve automationLook for opportunities to provide additional value to customers that also deliver incremental business for Applied Control and Emerson.Skills/Qualifications:Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsEffectively manage difficult or emotional customers and respond promptly to customer needsStrong attention to detailSituational awareness and commitment to safetyExcellent organizational and time management skillsWorking knowledge of isolation valves, actuators, and accessory control equipment requiredAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionBasic PC skills and ability to utilize various software applications (MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and interface with multiple business/database systemsAbility to access customer equipment which may involve stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs, riding man lifts, walking scaffolding, catwalks, etc.Working Conditions:Travel is required and may include driving several hours per day and overnight trips. Must have a valid driver's license and own an automobile. This position is eligible for a vehicle reimbursement program.The position requires regular carrying of a laptop computer and occasionally carrying demonstration equipment/products.Compensation:We offer a competitive compensation package with the opportunity to earn between $130,000 and $150,000 in cash compensation, with a mix of fixed and variable pay at plan. Prior work or industry experience as well as job-related education and unique skills will be taken into consideration when setting the wage rate.Other Variable Compensation: Eligible for additional incentive compensation including a quarterly sales bonus, an annual sales escalation payment, and an annual profit shareBenefits offered include: Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, 401K with an employer match, generous PTO plan starting at 16 days of PTO and increases with service, a 9/80 work schedule that provides for 26 additional weekdays off each year.Company DescriptionApplied Control is a leading process technology provider located in Englewood, CO.
