Benefits 401(k) Health insurance Paid time off Training & development Position Title: Lead Teacher Reports To: Director/Assistant Director/Owner School Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM Position Summary The Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children can learn and grow. This position plans and implements developmentally appropriate curriculum, maintains a well-organized learning environment, fosters positive relationships with families, and leads classroom staff while ensuring compliance with all state licensing, Quality Assurance (QA), and Texas Rising Star (TRS) standards. Teaching & Classroom Leadership Plan and implement engaging, age‑appropriate curriculum and daily learning experiences. Observe and assess children's development and maintain accurate records. Create a welcoming, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Display children's work, curriculum documentation, and classroom learning in meaningful ways. Lead, mentor, and collaborate with co‑teachers to ensure smooth classroom operations. Maintain open, professional communication with families regarding their child's development and daily experiences. Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure the safety, health, and well‑being of every child through active supervision and adherence to all school policies. Maintain compliance with all state licensing regulations, Quality Assurance expectations, and Texas Rising Star (TRS) standards. Keep the classroom organized, inspection‑ready, and compliant at all times. Complete all required documentation, lesson plans, assessments, attendance records, and incident reports accurately and on time. Participate in coaching, training, classroom observations, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Professional Expectations Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude. Arrive prepared and on time each day. Work collaboratively with staff and contribute to a positive school culture. Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development. Uphold the school's mission, values, and commitment to excellence in early childhood education. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Previous childcare experience required; Lead Teacher experience preferred. CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). Must meet all state licensing requirements. Physical Requirements Lift and carry children up to and over 50 pounds. Frequently bend, kneel, squat, sit on the floor, and stand for extended periods.
