You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in Surgery· Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.· Documents patient care given.· Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.· Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.· Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.· Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.· Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.· Performs patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in other nursing units as necessary.Essential Functions Additional InformationPatient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.Qualifications and Requirements:Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.Why Join Highpoint Health SumnerFundamental to providing great care is supporting and rewarding our team.
