Job Title School Registered Nurse Job Details Position Length: Temporary Job Grade: N/A Hourly Rate: $32.80 Hours Per Day: Varies Application Procedure: Apply online Purpose Statement To provide maximum educational opportunity for each student by creating a climate of good health and wellbeing through education, screenings, nursing assessment, and medical attention. Essential Functions Assure immunization compliance and disease surveillance. Conduct vision, hearing, and scoliosis screenings to meet state law. Perform day‑to‑day health office activities including first aid, medication dispensing, nursing assessment, and nursing tasks such as catheterization, gastrostomy tube medications, tube feedings, SVN treatments as required, and other typical RN duties. Maintain all documentation both written and on the computer system. Prepare individualized school health care plans, emergency plans, transportation health care plans, and training on interventions in the plans. Work with the IEP team to provide an optimal educational environment for medically fragile students. Participate on behavioral health teams, crisis and safety teams, and provide faculty trainings on bloodborne pathogens, child abuse, and other areas of health concern. Implement health services in accordance with legally and professionally recognized nursing practice within the limits and policies of the school district and the Arizona Board of Nursing. Minimum Qualifications Good computer skills. Good communication skills working with students, staff, and parents. Ability to work independently. Comfortable speaking with large groups to deliver trainings. Ability to work well with multidisciplinary teams. Pediatric and/or school nurse experience desirable. Ability to lift 50 pounds without restrictions. Preferred at least two years of clinical RN experience. Experience Job‑related experience within a specialized field is required. Education Associate or Bachelor degree from an accredited educational institution. Required Testing Evidence of Hepatitis B series. Continuing Education / Training CPR certification. Certificates & Licenses Registered Nurse license in good standing. National School Nurse Certification (recommended). Clearances Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. FLSA Status Not evaluated. Approval Date July 1, 2020. Salary Grade Nurse 9 Month.
