Sanitation Technician

Primary Function Clean and maintain assigned area. Maintain control of all parts, which may include gaskets and the replacement of broken or missing components. Assist in setting up in the assigned department or other lines. Be responsible for mixtures of cleaning solutions and other chemicals. Responsibilities and Tasks Use chemicals to clean and sanitize all machinery and areas assigned. Tear down machinery at the beginning of the cleanup shift. Assist in setting up before production starts in the morning. Perform duties assigned by supervisor, area leader, and Sanitation Manager. Execute tasks mandated by management. Follow directions and work in other departments as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Skills Self‑motivation and ability to work unsupervised. Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours. Cooperative work attitude with supervisors and coworkers. Strong work ethic, honesty, and moral character. Basic understanding of machinery tear‑down and set‑up. Experience cleaning up parts. Preferred Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic math functions and skills. Poultry experience preferred, but not mandatory. Basic understanding of chemicals. Safety Requirements Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to safety requirements. Physical Requirements Must work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC). Must stand for an 8‑hour shift. Must tolerate exposure to noise >85 decibels, CO₂, and moving production. Must handle a 900 PSI water hose continuously. Must lift 10–50 lbs for moving, lifting, and pushing machinery. Must climb up and down ladders during daily work schedule. Must stoop and reach overhead (bending & twisting).
