JG Boyd Law Firm is a client-focused law practice serving individuals and families throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area. We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Senior Paralegal to join our growing legal team.

The ideal candidate is an experienced family law paralegal who can independently manage a significant caseload, anticipate attorney needs, maintain strong client communication, and help ensure cases move efficiently from intake through resolution.

The Senior Paralegal serves as a key member of the legal team and works closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to support the effective management of family law matters. This position requires a professional who is comfortable taking ownership of assigned cases, managing competing deadlines, preparing legal documents, communicating with clients, and maintaining accurate and organized case files. The Senior Paralegal may also provide guidance and support to less-experienced paralegals and legal support staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned family law cases from initiation through resolution under attorney supervision.

• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, notices, subpoenas, affidavits, and other legal documents.

• Prepare and organize discovery requests and responses, including collection and review of financial and supporting documentation.

• Maintain case calendars, court deadlines, hearings, mediations, depositions, and attorney schedules.

• Prepare attorneys for hearings, mediations, depositions, trials, and client meetings.

• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients regarding case status, outstanding documents, deadlines, and next steps.

• Coordinate with courts, opposing counsel, experts, mediators, and other parties as needed.

• Review case files regularly to ensure deadlines, follow-up items, and attorney assignments are completed.

• Maintain accurate and timely case notes, documentation, and records within the firm's case management system.

• Assist with trial preparation, exhibits, witness materials, hearing notebooks, and other litigation support.

• Accurately record billable time and complete required administrative documentation.

• Identify potential case-management concerns and proactively communicate them to the responsible attorney.

• Assist with training, workflow coordination, and quality review for paralegal and legal support staff when needed.

• Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate sound professional judgment at all times.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience, with significant experience supporting attorneys in a law firm environment.

• Demonstrated experience drafting legal documents and managing litigation deadlines.

• Strong knowledge of court filing procedures and legal terminology.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to independently manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case- management/document -management technology.

• Ability to maintain professionalism when handling sensitive, confidential, or emotionally challenging client matters.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree.

• Paralegal certificate from an accredited or recognized program.

• Experience with divorce, custody, child support, legitimation, modification, contempt, and other Georgia domestic-relations matters.

• Experience mentoring or providing work direction to other paralegals or legal support professionals.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, billable-hour law firm environment.
