Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU. Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT: Responsibilities A Patient Care Technician works alongside doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care in a variety of healthcare environments. The Patient Care Technician plays a vital role in the healthcare delivery setting by improving patient satisfaction and influencing patient throughput. Qualifications Job Requirements: Prior experience in performing EKG and phlebotomy procedures. 6 months in an Acute Care hospital setting. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose testing. Preferred Job Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Patient care or EKG and phlebotomy certificate. Cardiac Credentialing International Certification a plus. EKG and Phlebotomy certifications/certificates.
