Come join the team that is working quietly to keep the light of liberty shining!As a Structural Engineering Associate Manager, you will:Manage a team of 8-15 structural engineers by providing oversight, technical mentoring, career development, training, and performance reviewsWork collaboratively with the programs your team supports and with functional leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skillsRepresent the organization in design reviews and external interactions, practicing Full Spectrum Leadership behaviorsOversee technical product management for program life cycles, facilitating strategic initiatives for affordability and efficiency across the programs your team supportsIndependently perform detailed structural analysis of spacecraft components and systems to ensure program requirements and schedules are metStandard Job DescriptionManages the research, planning, design and development of mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs application of research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent experience/combined educationPrior experience as a technical lead or managerFundamental understanding of structural analysis methods and processes (e.g., load paths, modes, modal coupling, mechanical joints, stress/strain, fatigue/fracture, buckling, classical hand calculations.Proficient with finite element numerical solution tools (e.g., NX & NX Nastran)US Citizen with Active Secret Clearance prior to start and ability to obtain Top Secret or SCI Security ClearanceDesired SkillsDemonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership competencies, including: communicating with positive impact, developing enduring relationships, making effective decisions, delivering value, buildingProficient with engineering level computer programming tools (e.g., Matlab)Experience with analysis and test of structural environments (e.g., static, acoustics, randomvibration, shock, modal, jitter)Experience with test engineering, instrumentation, data collection, and/or test reportsAbility and desire to assume ownership of tasks and quickly and efficiently drive to closureWillingness to mentor and develop junior engineersExcellent written and verbal technical communication skillsProficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practicePay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
