Pre-Sales Engineer

Role At a Glance As a Pre‑Sales Engineer at Paystand, you’ll play a critical role in our revenue engine—acting as the technical expert and trusted advisor during the sales cycle. You’ll partner with Account Executives to deliver customized demos, navigate complex technical requirements, and architect solutions that seamlessly integrate with customers’ finance and ERP environments. Your deep understanding of mid‑market ERP systems (ideally NetSuite) and accounting workflows will empower you to convert technical complexity into clear, compelling value propositions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced, cross‑functional environments and enjoys influencing both pre‑sales strategy and post‑sale success. What You’ll Do Collaborate closely with Account Executives to guide prospects through technical discovery, product demonstrations, and solution design. Deliver tailored, engaging product demos to finance decision‑makers (Controllers, CFOs, Accounting teams). Understand and document customer workflows in Accounts Receivable, payment processing, and ERP systems; align those with Paystand’s capabilities. Scope and define customer solutions, including custom workflows, integrations, and product configurations. Translate solution designs into accurate, high‑quality Statements of Work (SOWs) for implementation and handoff. Partner with Product and Implementation teams to de‑risk deals and ensure smooth post‑sale transitions. Share market and customer insights with Product and Engineering teams to inform roadmap planning. Lead proof‑of‑concept or pilot engagements when required to validate Paystand’s value in complex use cases. Train and coach the sales team on ERP‑related product features, value messaging, and best practices in finance transformation. Qualifications Required 3+ years in a Sales Engineer, Solution Consultant, ERP Consultant, or similar role. Deep knowledge of mid‑market ERP systems, ideally NetSuite. Background in finance or accounting (CPA, CMA, or accounting degree). Excellent verbal and written communication; able to explain technical concepts to finance and non‑technical audiences. Proven ability to deliver compelling product demonstrations and visualize workflows on‑the‑fly. Experience in B2B SaaS—preferably fintech, payments, or AR automation. Nice to Have Hands‑on AI knowledge and ability to automate tasks to scale. Familiarity with the mid‑market ERP landscape such as Sage Intacct, Acumatica, Microsoft Dynamics, Rillet, or Campfire. Experience with payment workflows, API integrations, or platform‑based sales. Strong storytelling and persuasion skills during sales presentations. Compensation and Benefits Salary ranging from 100,000–140,000 per year, based on experience and industry + 15% on target bonus.
