Job Overview A law firm seeks a Tax Controversy Associate in Washington, DC. The candidate should have 4 to 7 years of civil tax controversy experience, preferably within a law firm setting. This role involves representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and state tax agencies, conducting legal research, and preparing legal documents related to tax matters. Responsibilities Represent taxpayers before the IRS and state tax agencies. Conduct efficient legal research and analysis. Prepare and review draft legal documents for tax controversy matters. Manage multiple projects and deadlines under attorney supervision. Interact daily with clients and manage client relationships. Collaborate with large transactional practices. Qualifications 4 to 7 years of civil tax controversy experience. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent time management and strong technical abilities. Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission in the jurisdiction of the resident office location. Education Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Certifications LL.M. in Taxation is a plus. Skills Ability to break down complex topics and identify practical solutions. Deliver timely and succinct work product.
