Senior Medical Assistant / Trainer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Medical Assistant / Trainer to join our occupational medicine team. In this role, you will provide advanced clinical and administrative support while also serving as a key trainer for new and existing staff across clinic locations. You will play a critical role in ensuring consistent clinical standards, supporting onboarding, and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced occupational health environment.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, with flexibility based on clinic assignment Compensation: Starting compensation range is $24.00-$28.00 hourly. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Must be flexible to provide coverage across our Southern California and Orange County clinic.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient records, assisting with billing and coding tasks
• Answering phone calls and responding to patient inquiries
• Verifying insurance coverage and processing insurance claims
• Performing basic clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs and administering medications
• Assisting our providers with drug testing, physical evaluations, drawing blood samples and other clinical duties
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the back office and exam rooms
• Providing patient education and answering patient questions
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and ethical standards
• Follow company policies, procedures, and directives
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the practice
• Assisting with medical procedures as needed.
• Travel throughout the Southern California and Orange County region to support training and onboarding of new employees, including DOT and BAT certification training
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
• Ability and willingness to float between clinics to support provider coverage and staff training.
• BAT Trainer and DOT Trainer certifications preferred; candidates must be willing to obtain certification if not currently certified
