Supervisor - Polysomnography

Position Summary The Supervisor of Polysomnography is a direct‑care position that reports to the Director of the Sleep Center for organizational and administrative functions and to the Medical/Clinical Directors for clinical matters. The supervisor shares responsibility for organizing, coordinating, and evaluating the technical aspects of the Sleep Center and is accountable for the growth and development of all technical staff. The role demonstrates the organization’s commitment to sound ethical business practices as directed by the Corporate Compliance Office and approved by the Board of Trustees. Employment Type Full time Shift Day Shift Responsibilities Establish, maintain, and monitor a comprehensive Quality Improvement Program. Establish and maintain preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is in good working condition and safe for patient use. Establish, implement, and monitor an appropriate system for test accession, identification, retention, and retrieval. Initiate and continue the orientation and training of qualified technical personnel to maintain departmental standards of quality, productivity, and performance. Assist in the development of new operating procedures. Plan bi‑weekly schedules and assignments. Make necessary changes to ensure adequate coverage. Maintain positive employee relations through observation of employee comments, informal resolution of complaints, consistent treatment of employees, turnover rates, and exit interviews. Maintain positive physician relationships through observation of physician comments, problem‑solving efforts with physicians and their office staff, and feedback from the Medical/Clinical Directors. Develop, coordinate, implement, and monitor the PAP compliance program. Score tests and make them available for interpretation in a timely manner. Accommodate patients on short notice with special consideration for emergency cases. Check inventory supplies weekly and order as necessary. Complete other activities and reports within time frames agreed upon between the Supervisor and the Director. Perform day studies including MSLTs, MWTs, baselines, and titrations, ensuring completion in a timely and accurate manner. Utilize available technical personnel. Utilize available financial resources for supplies and equipment. Suggest and recommend items for the Department’s operating and capital equipment budgets. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Associates degree. Three to five years’ experience in the sleep disorders field, with at least two years of supervisory experience. Current license in respiratory therapy from the NYS Department of Education. Registered by the Association of Polysomnographic Technologists. Pay Range: $34.80–$50.46 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education; exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
