Nutrition Specialist

Promotional & Open Opportunity To fill a current vacancy 24 hours per week (M, T, Th 2:00pm-6:00pm and W.F 12:00pm - 6:00pm), 183 days per year. Itinerant Position with Expanded Learning, and to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. The established list will remain in effect for one year. Responsibilities Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, teach, plan, coordinate and monitor nutrition, cooking, garden, agricultural and health education activities for students and staff; provide in‑classroom presentations to students and training to personnel to encourage healthy and nutritional eating habits; coordinate communications and serve as a technical resource concerning health and nutrition. Education & Experience Requires any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, business administration or a related field, including completion of an internship program, and one year experience in a school food service operation including some experience in menu planning and analysis. Licenses & Other Requirements Valid Food Safety Manager Certification; employees must fulfill certification requirement within the first six (6) months of the probationary period.
