Boiler Operator 1st and 2nd Shift

Unicorr Packaging Group, a family-owned leading manufacturer of corrugated and protective packaging, seeks a self-motivated and highly energetic Boiler and Starch Room Operator on 1st shift and 2nd shift in our Marlborough, MA facility.Responsibilities:Safely operate the boilers, steam, condensate, make-up water, and similar systems to minimize waste and maximize efficiencyMaintain, and troubleshoot above systems. This includes all steam and condensate flows, valves, pumps, and controls. Specific areas to be monitored on a continuous basis including boilers (water level and operation), feed water pumps, chemical feed system, water softener, dryers, turbine, and line shaft operation.Make batches of starch and verifying starch qualityOperate water treatment equipmentWork cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goalsMaintain a clean and safe work areaObserve all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to managementFollow all written and verbal instructionsAttend all safety and production trainingsDemonstrate a positive and professional attitudeAble to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekendsQualifications:Massachusetts 3rd Class Engineer's LicenseIndustrial Class 2 Wastewater Treatment License (or ability to be trained and pass the test)High school diploma or equivalent required2+ years’ experience working in industrial production is strongly preferredFlexible schedule and willingness to work on different shifts preferredMust be available for weekends/occasional overtimeCapable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manualsBasic math, reading, and writing skillsBasic computer skillsGood communication skillsWillingness to comply with all safety guidelines at all timesPhysically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reachingAble to operate large industrial machineryAble to lift 50 lbs on a regular basisAble to work 8 hour shifts standingReliable and punctualPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
