Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health

Job Type: Full Time | Days Sign on Bonus: $10,000 Job Overview Registered nurse (RN) needed for Behavioral Health Unit focused on patients aged 55 and older. The unit provides medication management and support for situational depression and ideation while maintaining independence of most patients. Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. The unit comprises RNs, techs, sitters, a social worker, an intake clinician, and a recreational assistant. Essential Functions Perform plan-of-care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. Assist patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation). Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs). Assess learning needs and deliver age- and culture-appropriate patient and family education. Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Participate in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education. Provide quality patient care and work other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements Applicants must have a current State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure and possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree or RN Diploma in Nursing. Additional Requirements BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required to be current upon hire. Handle with Care preferred.
