Mi Vida East Market is looking for an experienced Maitre D' to lead the front door and create a welcoming, organized, and professional experience for our guests.
We are looking for someone with proven experience running the door at a busy restaurant who understands how to manage reservations, control the flow of the dining room, communicate with guests and staff, and remain composed when service gets busy.
Pay: $19–$22/hour
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Maitre D', Host Lead, or running the door at a restaurant
- Experience with OpenTable or a comparable reservation system is required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Grace under pressure and the ability to remain calm and professional during busy services
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Dependable and punctual
- Confident handling guest concerns and difficult situations
- Ability to effectively communicate with servers, managers, and the kitchen
- Professional, welcoming, and personable demeanor
- Ability to manage reservations, waitlists, table assignments, and guest flow efficiently
The Role
The Maitre D' is responsible for taking ownership of the guest experience from the moment guests arrive. You will manage the door, oversee reservations and seating, coordinate with the service team, and help ensure the dining room operates smoothly throughout the shift.
The ideal candidate is someone who can command the door without being overbearing , make guests feel genuinely welcome, and maintain control and composure even when the restaurant is at its busiest.
