Job Overview Travel Stepdown RN – 13‑week assignment in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Fusion Medical Staffing seeks an experienced Stepdown RN to provide high‑quality care for patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical units, with a focus on telemetry and cardiac monitoring. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification NIHSS Certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Work Functions Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately Administers prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac procedures and examinations Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients Observes patients, records significant conditions, and communicates cardiac status changes to supervisors or physicians Responds to life‑saving situations using nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols for cardiac emergencies Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients Initiates patient education plans focused on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients Maintains confidentiality of patients and client information Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions Basic PC skills Physical Abilities Ability to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal Skills Effectively work with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) while presenting a positive attitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills Capable of fine manipulation, push/pull, and movement assistance during procedures or when using equipment Mental Requirements Handle frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure Work under close supervision occasionally and independently when needed Adapt to irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail Sensory Visual acuity and effective communication abilities required Benefits Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first‑day coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) after 1560 hours Life and short‑term disability offered 401(k) matching Aggressive refer‑a‑friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Other Duties Disclaimer: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
