We seek a mechanically minded individual looking for an opportunity to join an efficient auto service center team! Our successful automotive technician candidate understands vehicle electrical and computer systems and is able to properly diagnose and perform repairs. $38 - $50 hourly

• Operate diagnostic equipment to accurately determine the cause of malfunction codes with the vehicle’s integrated computer system
• Facilitate customer satisfaction and repeat business by following all manufacturer specifications for vehicle systems repairs

• Perform thorough multi-point inspections on incoming used vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment
• Conduct repairs and maintenance, including brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, electrical systems, and HVAC
• Prepare used vehicles for resale by ensuring they meet dealership and state safety standards
• Accurately document all work performed and parts used in repair orders
• Collaborate with service advisors and used car managers to prioritize repairs and meet deadlines
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines

• GED or high school diploma is mandatory
• Completion of a certified post-secondary training program is mandatory; an associate degree is ideal

• Technical school training is a plus

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician, preferably with used vehicles

• ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Owning basic hand tools; the dealership or shop may provide specialty tools
