School Cleaner

Location and Compensation Location: Hartlepool. Salary: £13 - £17 per hour (depending on experience). StartDate: Immediate. ContractType: Day‑to‑day / LongTerm, Full‑time / Part‑time. Opportunity Sought: dedicated Cleaners for schools across Hartlepool to maintain safe learning environments. Responsibilities Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas to a high standard. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitise designated areas. Empty bins and dispose of waste in accordance with school procedures. Replenish cleaning supplies and report any shortages. Ensure all cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly. Follow health and safety regulations, including COSHH guidelines where applicable. Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or damages to the appropriate staff. Work collaboratively with the site team to maintain a clean and safe school environment. Requirements Previous cleaning experience, preferably within a school, commercial, or public setting. Good understanding of cleaning procedures and health and safety practices. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards. Reliable, punctual, and hardworking with a positive attitude. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education. Applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or completing a new application.
