Job Description

An employer is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to support the procurement of materials and equipment for a leading construction organization. This individual will manage purchase orders, source and evaluate vendors, coordinate deliveries, maintain accurate ERP data, support bidding activities, and help ensure project teams receive the materials and equipment they need on time.\nThe ideal candidate has strong purchasing and negotiation experience, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to balance cost, quality, availability, and delivery requirements. This person will work closely with vendors, customers, project teams, and other supply chain personnel throughout the procurement lifecycle.\nDay-to-Day Responsibilities\nManage purchase orders and ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on schedule\nIdentify and contact appropriate vendors to confirm material and equipment availability, pricing, and delivery options\nObtain and evaluate vendor quotes to determine the best overall value\nIssue purchase orders to selected vendors\nCoordinate deliveries to project sites and proactively communicate delivery schedules\nResearch unfamiliar equipment and materials and provide relevant information to internal customers\nServe as a liaison between customers, vendors, project teams, and the broader supply chain organization\nMaintain positive relationships with strategic suppliers to support cost, quality, and delivery objectives\nAssist with the preparation of bidding documents, including bidder instructions, specifications, notices, and proposal forms\nReview and approve invoices and authorize payments\nAnalyze industry, supply, and demand trends\nSupport senior leadership in developing and implementing sourcing strategies\nResolve vendor issues, disputes, and delivery concerns\nMaintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within the ERP system\nImplement and improve procurement processes focused on efficiency, cost savings, and best practices\nAssist team members with forecasting and budgeting throughout the procurement cycle\nPartner with internal stakeholders to determine purchasing specifications, sources, availability, pricing, shipping, and receiving requirements\nAddress customer concerns promptly with a focus on customer satisfaction
