As a Security Officer - Medical Center - Flex in Charleston, SC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including hallways, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, with working conditions that may vary by site.
• Help to deter unauthorized access, loitering, and/or suspicious activity by monitoring assigned areas and reporting concerns in accordance with post instructions.
• Assist with access control, visitor screening, and/or directional support while maintaining a professional presence in a healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• Be willing to meet hospital vaccine requirements.
• Be willing to work in a hospital morgue environment.
• Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
• Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
