Position: Production QC Specialist (Quality Control / Site Support / Assembly / Other) Direct Manager: Quality & Integration Lead, Production Manager Travel: Infrequent Position Summary This role owns the resolution process. As our Production QC Specialist, you are the person accountable for making sure every defect, kickback, and site request gets resolved — whether you fix it yourself or route it to the team who can. A person in this role takes ownership of the problem, drives it to the right hands, and owns the communication until it’s closed. When you can fix it, you fix it. When you can’t, you don’t just hand it off and hope — you route it to the right team (ex: Assembly, Carpentry, Creative Engineering, Purchasing), set the expectation, track it, and follow up until it’s done. Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch. This is a hands‑on, all‑in production team. When the resolution queue is clear, you flow to the next area of greatest need using a defined priority “check‑down,” making you a true Swiss Army knife of production. Key Responsibilities Resolution Ownership (Primary Focus): Own every defect, kickback, and request from the moment it surfaces to the moment it’s closed. You are the single point of accountability for the fix actually happening. Fix or Route: Resolve what you can directly. For everything else, route it to the right team — Assembly, Carpentry, Engineering, or Purchasing — with clear direction on what’s needed and by when. Own the Communication: Be the connective tissue between QC, production, and the field. Keep every open item visible, set expectations, follow up relentlessly, and confirm closure. No silent handoffs. Inspect & Test: Verify completed components against specs and shop drawings to catch issues — and confirm fixes are right before the product is approved. Defect Feedback Loop: Track recurring failures and report consistent fail patterns back to the Assembly team — not just individual kick‑backs — so root causes are corrected upstream and the same defect doesn’t return. Site Request (PRF/SRF) Handling: A top priority alongside QC. Process and expedite Production/Site Request Forms with urgency. Confirm every request includes complete, accurate information (SKU, part number, and sufficient detail) before fulfillment, and push back on incomplete requests. Job & Time Tracking: Maintain accurate time entries and operation status in production workflow and HR timekeeping software (Fulcrum, ADP). Collaboration: Work closely with the QC, Assembly, and Install teams to keep workflow moving and information clear from request to completion. Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to strengthen QC standards, inspection processes, and the request and feedback systems that connect the field back to production. Safety & Organization: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and company standards. Qualifications & Skills A strong work ethic and a desire to produce and protect high-quality work. Detail-oriented, with a sharp eye for catching defects, inconsistencies, and missing information. Ability to read, interpret, and build from shop drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and parts lists. Familiarity with assembly methods and basic electronics integration is a plus. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and prioritize across competing demands. A clear, assertive communicator who can deliver feedback to Assembly and field teams constructively. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt and find solutions. High level of integrity and trustworthiness. Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner. Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform tasks requiring physical exertion. Performance Expectations Quality: Catch defects before they reach the guest; maintain and improve first-pass yield. Responsiveness: Process PRF/SRF requests accurately, completely, and on time. Improvement: Reduce recurring defects by feeding consistent fail patterns back to Assembly. Flexibility: Productively flow to the next area of need during slow QC periods, following the check-down.
