Senior Director, Marketing, Rare Disease - Friedreich Ataxia (FA)

This role leads marketing strategy and execution for a rare disease therapeutic in the US market, overseeing a team of 4–5 professionals and coordinating across multiple functions including medical affairs, market access, and patient services. The successful candidate will develop brand strategy, drive cross-functional alignment, and manage launch efforts while reporting to the Head of Marketing for Rare Disease.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute US brand strategy for Friedreich Ataxia launch and market maximization
• Lead team of 4-5 marketing professionals and drive cross-functional strategic alignment
• Design creative campaigns, messaging, and ensure consistent brand communications across field
• Establish brand performance metrics, track results, and measure ROI on marketing investments
• Scan market for rare disease capability advancements in patient finding, omnichannel, and advocacy

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
• 12+ years pharma/biotech commercial experience; 7+ years marketing with 2+ years US market
• Proven experience working in rare disease marketing
• Experience managing large P&L budgets and business financials
• Leadership capability to influence without formal authority in fast-paced environments
• Track record building and motivating high-performing teams to exceptional results
• Strong project and vendor management with resource allocation and fiscal discipline

Compensation: $234,000-$322,000 base
