Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• New Jersey Standard Certificate as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH); or
• New Jersey Instructional Certification for Elementary Education (K–6)
• Compliance with all New Jersey Department of Education licensure, endorsement, and assignment requirements
• Comfortable working with students requiring significant behavioral and academic support
• Willingness to engage in provided safety and de-escalation training

What You’ll Do:

• Manage a caseload of elementary-aged students, primarily grades K-6, in a behavioral and structured setting
• Deliver individualized instruction and support, adapting teaching methods to meet each child’s unique needs
• Implement and reinforce behavior management strategies, utilizing training and resources available
• Work collaboratively with other special education professionals, administrators, and support staff
• Participate in ongoing professional development and required district trainings
• Support student independence—personal care (toileting) is not part of this role
