About the Opportunity

Our client is a globally recognized engineering consulting firm that delivers innovative solutions across the power, energy, and infrastructure sectors. They are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join their Corporate Finance team on a six-month contract assignment. These positions will provide critical support by managing project accounting and billing activities while the organization focuses on a large-scale Workday implementation.

What You'll Be Doing

• Set up customers, projects, contracts, and intercompany billing within the project accounting system
• Prepare and process customer invoices in accordance with contract terms
• Support domestic and international projects, including multi-currency billing, foreign taxes, withholding, and retention
• Prepare invoice packages for Project Manager approval with all required supporting documentation
• Submit invoices through customer portals and maintain complete billing documentation
• Process monthly intercompany billing activities
• Perform project closeouts and reconciliations
• Reconcile open billing details to the general ledger
• Research and resolve billing, invoicing, and payment discrepancies
• Partner with project managers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely billing
• Assist with additional project accounting and billing responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree with relevant experience will be considered
• 4+ years of project accounting, project cost accounting, or contract billing experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat
• Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively across teams
• Experience with Deltek perferred
• Experience with foreign currency billing is a plus
• Experience with Workday is a plus
• Willingness to work occasional overtime when needed
