Job Title: Welder – 1st Shift



Job Description

This role focuses on performing MIG welding on a variety of parts and subassemblies in a clean, safe, and growing production environment. You will set up and maintain welding equipment, interpret blueprints and weld symbols, and ensure that all welded components meet quality and production standards with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, making necessary adjustments to weld different parts and subassemblies.
• Perform various simple welding operations, such as welding pins, knuckles, and joints, by following blueprint weld symbols with limited supervision.
• Move parts and workpieces manually or by crane and securely position them in weld fixtures or on tables using clamps and wrenches.
• Maintain required production quantities, efficiencies, and quality standards on all welded parts.
• Perform quality control inspections on welded components and clean welds to ensure they meet specifications.
• Prepare surfaces for welding, including cleaning and positioning, to ensure strong and accurate welds.
• Read and interpret blueprints to verify the accuracy of pre-assembled metal components prior to welding.
• Use measurement devices or gauges to perform simple measurements and verify that work meets dimensional requirements.
• Position and tighten braces, jacks, clamps, cable slings, or bolt parts in place to secure components for welding or riveting.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG welding in a production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• 1–3 years of welding experience or completion of formal welding schooling.
• Ability to perform basic measurements using gauges and measuring devices.
• Experience moving and securing parts using cranes, clamps, wrenches, and related tools.
• Strong focus on maintaining production efficiency, quality, and safety standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Flux core welding experience is preferred.
• Formal welding education or technical training is a significant plus.
• Openness to candidates fresh out of welding school who demonstrate strong skills and motivation.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, accurate welds.
• Ability to work with limited supervision while following established procedures.

Work Environment

This position operates on a 1st shift schedule in a new, clean, and safe production facility. The environment is focused on growth and continuous improvement, with well-maintained welding equipment and material-handling tools such as cranes, clamps, and fixtures. Company-provided uniforms support a practical and professional dress standard suited for a hands-on welding and fabrication setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mukwonago, WI.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Mukwonago,WI.
