About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President, Development to lead a comprehensive fundraising program with a focus on climate resilience. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing a multi-faceted fundraising strategy, including individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grants. This role is pivotal in meeting the organization's annual revenue goals and will involve close collaboration with the President, CEO, and Board of Directors to ensure the integration of fundraising priorities with the company's mission and objectives. The VP, Development will also be involved in donor strategy, cultivation, and stewardship, as well as managing a team and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the development department. Applicants for the VP, Development position at the company should have a strong commitment to its mission and a background in nonprofit development, with at least 8 years' experience. A generalist approach to development, including experience in all aspects of fundraising, is essential. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, and a proven track record in strategic planning and hands-on implementation. Familiarity with environmental organizations and philanthropy, particularly in the context of public space, is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, entrepreneurial leader with a passion for climate resilience and the ability to inspire others to support the organization's work.
