The 13-bed Mescalero Indian Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient services, supplemented by a number of field health programs, some of which are conducted by the Mescalero Tribe itself such as the following services: Laboratory, Radiology, Dentistry, Optometry, Outpatient Care, Inpatient Care, Diabetic Clinic, Women's Health Clinic, Behavioral Health and Pain Clinic. Facility Address: 318 Abalone Loop Road, Mescalero, NM 88340ResponsibilitiesThe position for laboratory services for the urgent care/outpatient divisions of Mescalero Service United require evening shift coverage of weekdays, afternoon shift coverage on Sundays and holiday rotation coverage.Shall perform phlebotomy duties and process laboratory patient samples of pediatric, geriatric, adolescent, and adult patients. Perform a variety of procedures including moderately complex analyses, with emphasis in the disciplines of Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular, Serology and COVID-19 testing.Able to evaluate requested procedures to determine the correct specimens and specimen containers suitable for analysis with a strong focus on specimen storage requirements.Evaluates suitability of specimen for analysis and requesting or redrawing new specimen if determined to be unsuitable for testing. Able to perform setting up and monitoring quality controls, calibrations and maintains proper records for quality control, calibration reports and section records as required.Competent in using and performing maintenance on instruments related to the daily operations of the laboratory.Able to troubleshoot instruments, quality control, and calibration problems.Testing procedures are performed on a variety of biological specimens using manual and/or automated techniques requiring a knowledge base of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision.Evaluates patient test results and ensures within reportable range of instruments.Evaluates patient test results and follows critical result and critical test protocols.Other related duties as assigned.Urgent care and out-patient laboratory services for family practice, pediatrics, women's health.RequirementsMust be at least ASCP eligible or certified MT/MLT; other acceptable credentials are AMT and HEW.B.S. degree in a Biological Sciences-related field.Must have current CPR certification and must provide proof of certification.KurzSolutions is committed to improving health outcomes by providing well-managed companies with the top healthcare talent in the market.
