Emergency Medicine Physician - Department Chair

We are seeking an accomplished Emergency Medicine Department Chair to lead the Emergency Department and Pediatric Emergency Department at a major academic medical center in Morristown, New Jersey. This is a unique leadership opportunity for an experienced physician with a strong background in emergency medicine, academic medicine, and department administration.
The Emergency Department offers:
Approximately 110,000 annual ED visits, including pediatrics
120 modern treatment areas
Recently renovated and expanded adult and pediatric emergency facilities
Level I Trauma Center
Goryeb Children's Hospital and dedicated Pediatric ED
Fast Track and specialized treatment areas
Behavioral health services
Geriatric services
Certified Autism Center
EMS control with specialty transport, transfer, and helicopter capabilities
Advanced Practice Provider and scribe support
Epic EMR
ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine Residency
Medical school affiliation and robust academic programs
Compensation & Benefits
$575,000–$625,000 annually, including clinical and administrative compensation.
Administrative leadership compensation provided through a stipend
Start-date bonus paid upon commencement
Bonus subject to a 24-month clawback period

Qualifications
Board Certified in Emergency Medicine through ABEM or AOBEM.
Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency.
Current or eligible New Jersey medical license.
15+ years of Emergency Department Director and academic Emergency Medicine experience.
Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing complex emergency medicine operations.
Experience with residency and fellowship education preferred.
Strong administrative, interpersonal, communication, and strategic leadership skills.
Must be available to begin as soon as hospital credentialing and privileges are completed, anticipated to take approximately 3–4 months.
