Salary: $17.39/hour - Salary is Negotiable (Employees will receive 5% below the negotiated pay rate during their probationary status.)

Responsible To:  Patient Registration Supervisor

Summary:  This position ensures a seamless, accurate, efficient patient intake process and a welcoming experience while collecting and verifying patient demographics, confirming health insurance coverage to maximize revenue collections, and handles cash/credit card transactions and processes these transactions for deposit. Refer Patients without insurance coverage to the Medical Benefits Coordinators to determine possible alternative coverage eligibility. All activities are performed in strict compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to maintain confidentiality and protect patient privacy. Continuation of this role is dependent upon available funding allocations.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants please clearly state how you meet these qualifications on the application/resume.

• High School Diploma, HSED Diploma or GED Certification is required within one (1) year of employment. Applicants age fifty (50) and older are exempt from this requirement.
• One (1) year of clerical, receptionist, or customer service experience or six (6) months of previous medical office experience or experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and third-party insurance.
• Must be able to demonstrate strong keyboard skills and computer knowledge.

• Background information disclosure (BID) form.
• Employees are required to have proof of seasonal influenza vaccination; medical or religious exemption may be requested upon hire.
