Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Hospice position requiring 2 years of hospice/geriatric experience and weekend availability.
Details
- Inpatient hospice setting caring for geriatric patients at end of life
- Average caseload of 5-7 patients per day
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour (08:00-17:00), with weekend requirement of 3x12s Friday through Sunday
- Covers East Pasco County territory
- Mileage reimbursed at $.58 per mile
- No on-call requirement
- Uses Netsmart charting system
Requirements
- Active FL or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Hospice and geriatric care experience required
- Experience with end-of-life care, death pronouncement, and postmortem care
- Knowledge of pain management including WHO Analgesic Ladder, equianalgesic dosing, and pain assessment scales
- Skilled in IV starts and maintenance
- Experience with symptom management including nausea, constipation, and ascites
- THC drug screening required, with consideration for medical marijuana cards based on applicable state laws
Additional Information
- Provide end-of-life care including death/dying counseling, advanced directive discussions, and family support
- Perform intake assessments, goal setting, and patient/family education
- Manage pain and symptoms using pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches
- Scrubs of any color permitted
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks or during orientation
- No call-ins permitted
- 16 hours of billable orientation modules completed virtually over two days
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
