POSITION SUMMARY:

Overland Corporation is seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Foreman to oversee daily field operations on heavy civil construction projects throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. This leadership role is responsible for managing crews, coordinating equipment and materials, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, and capable of leading teams in a fast-paced construction environment.

JOB DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lead and manage civil construction crews to achieve daily and weekly production goals.
  • Oversee grading, excavation, and site development operations in accordance with project specifications.
  • Inspect placement of materials and completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Operate and coordinate the use of heavy equipment as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, grading plans, and construction specifications.
  • Delegate tasks and organize crew schedules to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Coordinate the delivery and staging of equipment and construction materials.
  • Maintain daily timekeeping records, cost coding, and equipment logs.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and crew members.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and site-specific safety plans.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and weekly toolbox talks.
  • Monitor jobsite conditions and adjust operations to maintain productivity and safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a positive driving history.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Understanding of civil construction operations, grading, and site development practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of equipment operations, jobsite safety requirements, and production scheduling.
  • Familiarity with daily reporting, cost tracking, and crew management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and general communication software.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in civil construction operations or crew leadership.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure while exercising sound judgment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required.
  • Ability to travel and work throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Capable of safely entering and exiting construction equipment and uneven jobsite terrain.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vests, and work boots.
  • Primary work location is the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area.
