Travel Nurse RN Labor & Delivery (Night Shifts)

Job Overview TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel RN for Labor and Delivery in Bakersfield, CA. Travel assignment: 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts. Qualifications include 3 years recent acute care experience and BLS, ACLS, FHM, NRPI, 2 years or more. Physical stamina required for long standing, walking, navigating up to a 50‑lb lift. Travel Job ID #1429319. Responsibilities Stay with and monitor the patient throughout labor. Monitor contractions and assist patients with breathing techniques. Check cervix periodically to monitor progression. Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids before and after the birthing process. Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc. Provide immediate care of the newborn. Requirements BLS, ACLS, FHM, NRPI, 2 years or more of acute care experience (additional certifications may be required before assignment). Physical ability to stand, walk, lift 20 pounds, and possibly up to 50 pounds. Good skills for coping with stress and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds. Travel nurse eligibility and willingness to work 12‑hour night shifts.
