The Opportunity

Coastal Pipeline Inc. is seeking an experienced Underground Utility Pipe Foreman & Site Operations Lead to supervise underground utility construction, heavy excavation, and pipe installation crews across Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

In this central field leadership role, you will take total operational ownership over your ditch logistics—operating heavy machinery (excavators, loaders), setting pipe lasers to exact civil grades, managing material deliveries, and enforcing strict trench shoring safety protocols. Directing water distribution, sanitary sewer mains, storm culverts, and fire line builds, you will serve as the primary on-site authority. If you bring 5 to 7+ years of underground utility leadership experience, active trench safety/confined space certifications, and heavy equipment proficiency, Coastal Pipeline Inc. provides top-tier South Florida compensation, a company vehicle, a $5,000 signing bonus, and a stable year-round project pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• On-Site Field Command: Lead, sequence, and supervise daily operations for underground pipe crews—driving productivity across water main distribution, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, fire suppression lines, and dewatering setups.
• Heavy Machinery Operation: Safely operate heavy civil equipment—including excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes, and equipment transport rigs—for pipe placement, trenching, and site prep.
• Civil Blueprint & Grade Engineering: Read, interpret, and build directly from civil engineering prints, plan profiles, and layout grids; set up pipe lasers, optical levels, and grade rods to establish exact line and grade.
• Unyielding Safety & OSHA Stewardship: Enforce strict OSHA trench safety guidelines—managing trench boxes, aluminum hydraulic shoring, spoil setbacks, atmospheric testing, and confined space entry protocols.
• Municipal & Inspector Liaison: Coordinate daily site progress, inspections, and pressure testing with municipal inspectors, utility district representatives, general contractors, and project engineers.
• Material Logistics & Inventory Control: Track on-site pipe, fitting, valve, and precast structure inventory to eliminate site downtime and streamline material staging.
• Field Administration & Reporting: Complete accurate daily work logs, workforce timesheets, equipment utilization reports, and conduct mandatory weekly safety meetings (toolbox talks).
• Equipment & Fleet Stewardship: Direct routine maintenance, inspections, and daily care for assigned company vehicles, field equipment, cut-off saws, line lasers, and compaction machinery.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Required

• Underground Utility Tenure: Minimum 5 to 7 years of dedicated professional experience in underground utility construction, pipe laying, and field supervision.
• Machinery Mastery: Proven operator proficiency on excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes, and heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Grade Setting & Plan Fluency: Advanced capability to read civil engineering plans, plan profiles, and set precise invert grades using pipe lasers and optical levels.
• Safety Credentialing: Valid OSHA certifications for Trench Safety / Competent Person and Confined Space Entry are strictly required.
• Leadership & Organization: Strong crew leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a demonstrated track record of managing daily production logs and sub-trade workflows.
• Mobility Credentials: Valid Driver License with a clean, insurable driving history to operate company-provided vehicles.

Preferred

• Regional Infrastructure Scope: Direct experience managing municipal water, sanitary sewer, or storm drainage projects within South Florida regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDOT, Broward/Palm Beach County specs).
• Safety Credentials: Active OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.

Compensation & Benefits
