The YMCA of the Rockies is looking for a Bennett Preschool Teacher to join our team in Estes Park, Colorado. If you love working with young children and believe some of the best learning happens when kids are encouraged to explore the world around them, this could be the opportunity for you.


At Bennett Preschool, we use a nature-based curriculum to help children ages 2.5-5 learn through curiosity, exploration, play, and hands-on experiences.

As a Preschool Teacher, you'll collaborate with co-teachers and the Preschool Director to create engaging learning experiences inspired by the interests and curiosity of the children.

Qualifications

You'll need:


-Early Childhood Education degree or qualifying combination of ECE coursework and documented childcare hours
-Qualifications meeting Colorado requirements for a childcare center group leader
-Current First Aid and CPR certification
-Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
-Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
-Ability to walk up to two miles on uneven terrain
-Must be at least 21 years old
-Fluency in spoken English

Essential Functions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


-Responsible for implementing preschool curriculum to kids ages 2.5-5.
-Responsible for creating lesson plans and an environment that is driven by the interests of the children.
-Observe children's development while taking anecdotal notes, video, and photographs.
-Predict, prevent, identify and respond to safety issues for children in his/her care.
-Uphold Policies and Procedures as it relates to childcare licensing, YMCA policies, and ACA guidelines.
-Must attend required trainings and meetings.
-Assist in opening or closing the preschool as assigned.
-Participate in daily cleaning of program buildings as assigned.
-Work in other departments or program areas as assigned.
