Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Cath Lab RN will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures. The role involves supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac services within an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments before, during, and after cardiac procedures to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.
• Assist physicians during cath lab and EP procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are prepared and sterile.
• Monitor patient vital signs, sedation levels, and comfort throughout interventions and document accurately.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and post-procedure care.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including radiation safety and infection control guidelines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless workflow.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least 2 years of RN experience in a cardiac or cath lab setting.
• Valid SC nursing license or Compact license with the ability to obtain South Carolina licensure prior to start.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required; radiation badge must be provided.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of EP and cath lab procedures and equipment.
• Ability to work a 4x10 day shift schedule and handle on-call responsibilities.
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills.
