Director of Academic and Learning Support
Carondelet High School (About us) is seeking a full-time Director of Academic and Learning Support for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Director of Academic and Learning Support serves as the strategic leader of Carondelet High School's Academic and Learning Support (ALS) program, overseeing systems, services, and interventions that support students with diverse academic and learning needs. The Director supervises the ALS team, including Case Managers and the Academic Success Coach, while partnering closely with students, families, faculty, counselors, academic leadership, and outside professionals to ensure coordinated and compassionate support for students across their high school experience.
In addition to overseeing long-term support systems, the Director serves as the lead coordinator for acute and high-complexity student situations requiring immediate intervention, medical support coordination, or temporary individualized planning.

Core Responsibilities
Department Leadership & Program Oversight
Provide strategic leadership for the Academic and Learning Support department, ensuring alignment with the school's mission and student support philosophy.
Supervise and support ALS team members, including Case Managers and the Academic Success Coach.
Lead the ongoing development and evaluation of academic support systems, intervention structures, and student programming.
Partner with academic leadership, counseling, student life, and faculty to strengthen schoolwide systems of support, belonging, and retention.
Coordinate key ALS initiatives and programming, including summer transition programming for incoming students and summer academic remediation support.
Analyze student support trends and data to inform programming and interventions.
Student Support, Intervention & Accommodation Coordination
Oversee intervention systems for students experiencing academic, learning, medical, executive functioning, or social-emotional challenges impacting school performance.
Coordinate support plans in collaboration with students, families, faculty, counselors, and outside professionals.
Serve as the lead coordinator for acute or high-complexity student situations, including medical leaves, concussions, hospitalization, Home Hospital coordination, and temporary academic support planning.
Oversee accommodation planning and implementation, including psychoeducational review, testing accommodations, and Return-to-Learn protocols.
Monitor student academic progress, including intervention tracking, probation support, and reentry planning following extended absences or medical events.
Lead Student Success Intervention Team (SSIT) meetings and help determine when student situations require ongoing case management support.
Faculty Partnership & Schoolwide Collaboration
Serve as a resource to faculty regarding accommodations, executive functioning support, and inclusive instructional practices.
Support teachers and families in complex academic or student-support situations.
Collaborate across departments to strengthen communication, intervention practices, and student-centered support systems.
Contribute to orientation, transition programming, family education, and other schoolwide initiatives that support student success and wellness.
Explore and implement innovative tools and practices that support student learning and independence.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in education, school psychology, counseling, special education, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting high school students with diverse learning needs.
Faith Based
Demonstrated leadership experience in academic support, learning services, counseling, intervention systems, or student support programming.
Strong understanding of executive functioning, adolescent development, accommodations, intervention planning, and inclusive educational practices.
Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with student data systems and learning management platforms (e.g., PowerSchool, Schoology, Google Suite).
Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, empathy, and sound judgment.


Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred
Experience supervising or coaching educational support staff.
Experience in independent, mission-driven, or faith-based schools.
Familiarity with psychoeducational assessments, accommodation planning, and standardized testing processes.
Experience designing or refining student support systems and intervention programming.
