Medical Practice Patient Representative - Surgical Oncology - Norwalk, CT

Overview Medical Practice Patient Representative position within Nuvance Health’s surgical oncology department in Norwalk, CT. Full-time schedule: Mondays through Fridays, 8-hour shifts between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Travel between practices as needed. Role $500 Sign On Bonus (External Candidates Only) Title: Medical Practice Patient Representative - Surgical Oncology - Norwalk, CT Summary: Provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for the medical practice. Responsibilities Greets and welcomes patients upon arrival and communicates pleasantly and effectively. Ensures accuracy of patient information, including demographics and insurance. Answers phones, routes calls, takes messages, and ensures accurate communication both verbally and via the EMR system. Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals. Schedules and reschedules appointments according to office protocols. Monitors applications and manages worklists as applicable. Collects co-pays and reconciles money for deposit. Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients. Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation where applicable. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. Maintains and models the organization's values. Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance. Performs other duties as required. Education, Skills & Experience Required: High School graduate or equivalent. Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred; Data Entry; Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Minimum experience: Six months. Other Information Ability to travel between practices as needed.
