PACU Registered Nurse – Day Shift in New Orleans, LA

Experience: PACU or Pre/Post Op experience preferred; Critical Care experience a plus

Competitive pay: $53.60/hour

What You'll Do

Provide high-quality care for post-operative patients in a busy PACU setting
Support patients of all ages during recovery following surgical procedures
Float to pediatric PACU as needed, supporting all surgical populations
Operate specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team ensuring patient safety and comfort
Adhere to all safety and clinical protocols, including emergency response procedures
Document patient care accurately in Epic electronic health records

What You Need

Required:

Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
ACLS, BCLS, PALS certifications
1+ year of PACU or Pre/Post Op experience (Critical Care post-op experience preferred)
Experience with Epic EHR system

Preferred:

Experience caring for pediatric and adult patients
Ability to manage multiple patient needs in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed

About the Assignment

Join a nationally recognized healthcare provider at a renowned New Orleans hospital, known for its comprehensive surgical services across multiple OR suites. You will be part of a dedicated PACU team supporting pre-op, phase I, and phase II recovery across a high-volume setting, with a focus on patient safety and quality care. The unit supports all surgical populations, including pediatric and adult patients, and uses advanced equipment to enhance patient outcomes.
