Insight Global is seeking a Structural Engineer for one of their clients in the Knoxville area within the power generation industry. This engineer will work closely with a collaborative civil and structural team to design additions and modifications to structural systems supporting fossil fuel and hydropower facilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing design criteria, performing structural calculations, and analyzing existing structures to support new equipment loads, including crane re-ratings and retrofit evaluations. The role involves hands-on design of concrete foundations, anchorage systems, and structural steel elements such as platforms, pipe supports, and equipment structures using industry-standard analysis and modeling tools. The engineer will also produce and review detailed drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Revit to support construction and installation. Field work such as site visits, assessments of existing facilities, and participation in project meetings will be a regular part of the job. This position requires strong organization, sound engineering judgment, a commitment to safety standards, and flexibility to meet project schedules through occasional travel and overtime.

Required Skills & Experience

3-5 Years of experience as a Structural Engineer
Industrial experience preferred
Experience using Revit, AutoCAD 3D, and Plant 3D
Masters/Bachelors in Civil Engineering

PE License/Plans to obtain PE Company Description

-\tFlexible scheduling (generally ~7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, but adaptable)
