Business Analyst Contractor
The Sage Group's client is seeking a business-facing Business Analytics professional to support marketing measurement, media performance analysis, and investment planning across consumer brands and retailer channels. This person will combine strong analytical and technical capabilities with the ability to communicate actionable insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze channel efficiency, media performance, and sales drivers using Marketing Mix Model dashboards across brands, products, and retailer channels
- Translate marketing performance data into recommendations that inform media investment, portfolio planning, promotional strategy, and budget decisions
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting tools for business stakeholders
- Query, validate, and analyze large datasets using SQL; advanced SQL capability is preferred
- Support A/B testing, market-pairing, and other measurement initiatives, including data validation and methodology tracking
- Conduct promotional lift, cross-channel cannibalization, and campaign performance analyses using syndicated and internal data sources
- Apply statistical methodologies, including regression-based analysis, ANCOVA, covariate tracking, and experimental design concepts
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, analytics, data, and business teams to define questions, align on priorities, and present findings clearly
Qualifications:
- 5–7+ years of experience in marketing analytics, business analytics, data analytics, or a related field
- Experience working with Marketing Mix Models and/or marketing measurement platforms
- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to query, validate, and analyze complex datasets. Advanced SQL preferred
- Hands-on Power BI experience, including dashboard development and performance reporting
- Understanding of statistical methodologies, testing frameworks, and data-driven measurement approaches
- Strong business-facing communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings in a clear, practical manner
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
- CPG, retail, or syndicated data experience is a strong plus
