Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Inspector ensures that in-process and finished products meet all specified dimensions, parts requirements, and procedural standards. This role focuses on visual and measurement-based inspection, process and product audits, and accurate documentation within the quality management system. You will play a key role in maintaining high quality standards across box build and wire harness departments by verifying compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Verify that in-process and completed products are constructed according to all applicable dimensions, parts, and procedures.
- Conduct process and product audits as required to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Enter quality control inspection data accurately into the quality management system.
- Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for noncompliant products and document findings clearly.
- Create Quality Control Plans (QCPs) in advance of first-time builds and new production runs.
- Inspect finished box assemblies and small components in the Box Build Department, following detailed customer instructions.
- Perform approximately 80% visual inspection, using calipers and other measuring tools when needed for dimensional checks.
- Work closely with assemblers in a cell-based environment in the Wire Harness Department to inspect harnesses during assembly.
- Use microscopes and other measurement tools to check wires and small components for errors and defects.
- Read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), Process Specifications, Engineering Drawings, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to support quality decisions.
- Apply knowledge of PCB components, cable assemblies, and box assemblies during inspection activities.
- Follow detailed instructions provided by customers to ensure products meet all specified requirements.
- Maintain a detail-oriented, precise approach to work with strong emphasis on quality control and adherence to standards.
- Use hand and measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
- Proficiency in inspection, quality control, and quality assurance practices.

- Ability to read and understand Bills of Materials (BOMs), Process Specifications, Engineering Drawings, and SOPs.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Experience with visual inspection of assemblies and small components.
- Capability to work with microscopes and other measurement tools for detailed inspection.
- Clear vision of 20/20 or better at 20 feet or more.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors accurately.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and use hands to type for approximately one-third to two-thirds of the workday.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Authorization to work in the United States as a citizen or legal resident.
- Experience in PCB component identification, cable assemblies, and box assemblies.
- J-STD certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of IPC-610 and IPC-620 standards is a plus.
- Experience using CMM or similar measurement technologies is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a cell-based production environment alongside assemblers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production and assembly environment with a strong emphasis on precision and adherence to quality standards. You will work primarily on first-shift hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position involves frequent visual inspection, regular use of measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, micrometers, and occasional use of microscopes and other measurement equipment. Work is performed in box build and wire harness departments, often in a cell-based setting alongside assemblers. The job requires standing, walking, lifting up to 20 pounds, and frequent use of hands for typing and handling components. Clear vision and accurate color differentiation are essential to ensure that all production components meet specified quality requirements.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
