Lab Supervisor - Chemistry

Job Overview Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to join our Chemistry team in Raritan, NJ. The role involves overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensuring accurate testing, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Job Responsibilities Supervise day‑to‑day operations of the Chemistry Department. Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results reported in a timely manner. Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel. Monitor daily workflow and schedule adequate assay coverage. Ensure proper staffing of all shifts in the department. Research and resolve production errors; escalates when necessary. Engage in continuous process and service level improvements. Maintain equipment through Quality Control and ensure proper maintenance. Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents. Evaluate new process improvements and make recommendations. Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for development. Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency in technical operations. Ensure all work complies with state and federal regulations. Administer and manage policies and procedures, payroll, and personnel files. Perform administrative duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology. 4 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience. Preferred Qualifications 2 years or more of laboratory testing experience in Chemistry. 1 year or more of supervising or leading a team. ASCP or AMT certification. Job Standards & Requirements Non‑traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may be considered. Understanding of laboratory operations and policies. Experience in a high‑volume laboratory environment. Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations. Ability to work independently and within a team. Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems. High attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills. Comfortable making decisions in a changing environment. Ability to handle physical requirements of the position. Must pass a standardized color blindness test. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as business needs. Compensation Pay Range: $95,000 to $120,000 annually + Sign‑On Bonus $5,000 (External Candidates Only).
