Quality Measures Analyst - Hospital Quality & Patient Safety

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Measures Business Analyst to support hospital quality, patient safety, clinical performance, and patient experience initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience analyzing hospital quality metrics, Leapfrog measures, patient satisfaction, readmission rates, and CMS/HCAHPS-related indicators.

The candidate will collaborate with clinical quality teams, patient experience teams, data analytics, IT, and hospital leadership to monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and monitor hospital quality measures, patient safety indicators, and clinical outcomes.
Evaluate hospital performance against internal targets, regional benchmarks, and national standards.
Analyze Leapfrog Hospital Survey and Hospital Safety Grade measures.
Support data preparation, validation, and reporting for Leapfrog and other hospital quality programs.
Analyze patient satisfaction and patient experience metrics, including HCAHPS scores.
Monitor readmission, recurrence/re-occurrence, mortality, complication, and adverse-event measures.
Identify performance gaps, trends, outliers, and opportunities for quality improvement.
Develop and maintain quality dashboards, KPI scorecards, reports, and management presentations.
Gather and document business requirements for quality analytics and reporting initiatives.
Perform data validation and reconciliation across source systems, reports, and dashboards.
Collaborate with clinical, quality, operational, and technical stakeholders to investigate root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Track performance improvement initiatives and communicate findings to hospital leadership.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Public Health, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Healthcare Business Analyst, Quality Analyst, or Clinical Data Analyst.
Strong understanding of hospital quality measures, patient safety, and healthcare performance indicators.
Experience analyzing patient satisfaction, readmission, or clinical outcome metrics.
Strong SQL skills and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Experience with KPI reporting, data analysis, data validation, and business requirements documentation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Leapfrog Hospital Survey and Hospital Safety Grade.
Knowledge of CMS quality measures and HCAHPS reporting.
Experience working with hospital Quality, Patient Safety, or Clinical Performance Improvement teams.
Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
Familiarity with EHR/clinical systems, healthcare data warehouses, and value-based care programs.
