Quality Inspector

Mechanical InspectorThe Mechanical Inspector uses mechanical dimensional inspection methods and practices, operations, drawings, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect incoming, in-process and completed fabricated, machined parts, processes and assemblies, using various measuring devices, and making determinations for acceptance or rejection. Preparing documentation for final product buy off.Primary Responsibilities of the Role:Inspect and verify dimension, quantity and quality of all incoming and inprocess products in accordance with purchase orders & Blue Print.Identifying, documenting and segregating (where applicable) nonconforming productsMonitoring, measuring and testing products (in-process and final inspection) using advanced inspection techniques with the use of height gauge, gauge pins, thread gauges, comparator, etc.Releasing products for shipmentVerifying purchased product (QC inspection)Assemble and review customer certification packagesAS9102 paperwork preparation (Discus & Net inspect software)Education and Experience:Associate degree or some technical training (preferred)Work experience with AS9100/AS91021 or more years working at a machine shopAble to read and understand blueprintsFamiliarity with GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) symbolsExperience with precise measurement tools, such as calipers and micrometersBasic math skillsAttention to detailDiscus and Net inspect software experience highly preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Great attention to detail and communication skillsWilling to work as a teamExcellent communication skillsStrong multitasking abilityExtremely detail orientedStrong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skillsInterpersonal skills required to interact with internal personnel in Sales, Estimating, Shipping and AdministrationAbility to read, sort, check, count and verify numbersMust be able to read and writeMust be dedicated to safetyThe salary range in this posting depends on qualifications and experience.
