Occupational Maintenance Tech - Level 2

SUMMARY The Occupational Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment used in the facility. The technician will also perform preventative maintenance on all equipment in the assigned area. The Technician works with hand tools, powered tools, lifts, welding/cutting tools, fabrication tools, compressors, food processing equipment, high voltage equipment, and other tools. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance in the assigned area. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment used in the facility. Perform repairs and equipment installation/removal efficiently. Maintain good housekeeping at workstations and work areas. Respond to plant emergencies including Haz‑Mat incidents, equipment malfunction, fires, severe weather, etc., as directed by supervision. Hold lock‑out/toggle‑out certification. Complete daily maintenance paperwork for assigned work orders/requests and checklists. Perform special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor or manager. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position will not have supervisory responsibility. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years of experience in machine maintenance, building maintenance, preventive maintenance, carpentry, electrical, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, or electrical work. Basic welding experience. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools. Valid driver’s license.
