Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Skilled Nursing/Rehab position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Skilled Nursing and Rehab Units within a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility, functioning similarly to a Med-Surg unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:30-7:00
• Direct patient care with a ratio of up to 20 residents per nurse and an average daily census of 72
• Every other weekend rotation required upon request of the center
• No on-call responsibilities required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required, license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent LTC/SNF/Assisted Living/Med-Surg experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• IV certification required prior to starting
• Travel experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/medication administration, starting and maintaining IVs, and central line (PICC) care
• Experience with lifting equipment

Additional Information

• Provide specialized medical and rehabilitation care to dementia and surgical patients, including IV medications and wound care
• Work closely with CNAs/HCAs to deliver primary care
• Dementia training or experience highly recommended
• Rehab experience with strong Med-Surg and acute care background is helpful but not required
• Excellent customer service skills required
• Scrub attire: any shade of blue
• Free parking available on site
• RTO must be requested and approved at time of submission; requests will not be approved after an offer is made
• No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract, and no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Cannot request every holiday off
• Call-outs must be reported with more than 24 hours notice
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates are accepted
