Step into a school-based contract role where your expertise as an SLP or SLPA can support high school students in achieving their communication goals. This rewarding opportunity is located near Tallassee, AL, providing direct impact throughout the academic year.
You will work part-time, dedicating 24 hours each week to providing targeted speech-language sessions for a group of 21 high school students. Services are delivered weekly in 1-hour sessions, giving you focused time to design individualized interventions and track progress. The assignment will run from August 6th, 2026, to May 26th, 2027, offering a consistent schedule and the chance to see meaningful student growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Credentials as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Experience in a school setting is highly valued
- Skilled in conducting assessments, developing IEP goals, and delivering direct therapy
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Ability to maintain thorough documentation and comply with school-based requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to high school students in group and individual settings
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and contribute to IEP planning
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other education professionals
- Track student progress and adjust sessions to maximize outcomes
- Participate in team meetings and communicate student needs and achievements
