Job Summary:
The organization is seeking qualified Registered Nurses with Medical-Surgical (MS) expertise for a 13-week assignment at a surgical unit located in San Antonio, Texas. Candidates will be providing patient care in a busy surgical environment, and must bring their active Texas Registered Nurse license on the first day of assignment. The role involves working night and day shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Location: San Antonio, TX
• Position: RN - Medical-Surgical Floor (MS)
• Shift: 12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: 13-week assignment with minimum hours per week of 36
• Required Qualifications: Active Texas Registered Nurse license; minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience; certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS). Education and experience must include Meditech charting, peripheral IV placement and care, central line care, management of tubes and drains (NG, JP, chest tube), ostomy care, Foley catheter insertion and care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with tracheostomy care, wound vacs/large dressing changes, teaching patients, and experience with Meditech electronic medical records.
• Additional Information: All travelers are required to float according to Methodist floating policy. Unit staffing includes one unit secretary during the day, three Patient Care Assistants (PCA) on day shift, and 2-3 PCA on night shift. Procedures performed on the unit include all surgical procedures, trauma care, and large wound management.
• Dress Code: Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket. No acrylic or long nails; nails must be clean with no chipped polish. Hair must be off shoulders with natural color. Body art should be covered whenever possible. Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited.
